In Pager’s research he mentions that over the past three decades the United States has had an increase in inmates by six hundred percent. Summarizing what he said is that most men of color are the ones that are being incarcerated during their lifetime. Most of them are criminals and take life the easy way. But many Americans suffer from low employment rates. Which means people need workers to work and make production. Hiring an ex-convict is something to think about. To hire one I would ask them many questions and do my research about the crime he was punished for. But I would because every desires a second chance, and most people when they get out they aren’t financially stable and that may cause them to return to bad habits. But I would be extra careful with them like not make it obvious but watch that person. In times you really don’t know who is good and bad because our past doesn’t define us our actions do and if a person acted the way they did due to being under critical standards then I understand but they still don’t have the right to do that. But offering a job when possible even if it’s cleaning and minimum wage it’s still something and a help. I have many people in my family who are ex-convicts. It’s sad but more than half are and less than half of them get out and get in. the other half work hard to not go back and to do the dumb things they did and work hard to get money because this world runs on that cash id you have it you’re okay if you don’t your screwed and need a job and a way to financially stand, and if you don’t this gives you temptation for bad actions and dirty/easy money and jobs are a reason many get put in jail or worst. All this would also be according to the ex-convict crime and why he did want he did if we are able to find out. An ex-convict doesn’t necessarily mean criminal or bad person, but for this you should think about the crime and their future goals.
