What is race? As many of us know race is our roots, the culture we grew up in the region we grew up practicing. It’s from the place in which our ancestors come from. But many think of race as racist. Personally I dislike the word race. I rather use ethnicity rather then race. Race seems like a bad thing and many people use it to offend others. If I think of my ethnicity think of the place where my ancestors come from. My example is myself, my ethnicity is Mexican, how do I know or think? It’s because that’s where my ancestors come from. Many mistaken ethnicity with nationality. This is very common and the word race brings this up if someone tells me that’s because I’m M exican they think I’m an illegal alien, but that’s just my ethnicity. I’m Mexican. I grew up with a wonderful amazing Mexican culture, a beautiful region, amazing opportunity, people, and environment. Race is different for everyone in situations it’s an offense because race comes from racist. A racist person. We know our ethnicity due to our ancestors because it gets passed along but later mixed. I’m Mexican and the 5 past generations we have been with Mexican but who knows we all came from Adam and Eve meaning where all related in a way so why should race matter? I have asked my friend and family, what is race and what’s their race and how they know it ,who told them and such and it brings me to the conclusion that we determined our race by ancestors and culture in which we follow and lived in.
